Leicester identify Vitesse left-back Max Clark as a potential replacement

Vitesse Arnhem left-back Max Clark is being targeted to replace Ben Chilwell at Leicester if the England international leaves this summer.
Full-back Clark has made a major impact in Holland this season, emerging as one of the stand-out defenders in the Eredivise.

His performances have not gone unnoticed by English clubs, who have clamoured to watch the 24-year-old.

Leicester are among the clubs to retain and interest in the former Hull man as they identify potential new left-backs with Chilwell tipped for a move to either Chelsea or Manchester City.

Prior to the Eredivise season being curtailed because of the coronavirus, Clark’s playing stats were particular impressive this season and among the best for his position in Europe.

His cross completion rate is superior to Chilwell’s as is his defensive duels won numbers.

Indeed, a report conducted by Sky Sports in November that selected England’s best starting XI – according to statistics – ahead of the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo selected Clark ahead of Ben Chilwell and Danny Rose.
