Jenkins says Holland tour is great for experience…
Boro’s title-winning Under-21 team will test themselves against Dutch opposition in two friendly matches next week.
Before the start of their Barclays Premier Under-21 League Division One schedule, Paul Jenkins’ squad will take on Under-23 teams at Fortuna Sittard on Monday and Vitesse Arnhem on Thursday.
“It’s great experience for the lads to play against foreign opposition,” said Jenkins, who is anxious to build on last season’s successes. “A few of the lads were in Holland with us a few years ago when we had an extremely successful tour there, and I think they will learn a lot from this one.
“We spend five days in Holland and will be playing Under-23 teams, so there’s every chance their players will be older than ours. But hopefully we will have two good and challenging games.”
