Abiola Dauda Targets Eagles Call-Up

Vitesse Arnhem striker, Abiola Dauda, has expressed his desire to play for the Nigeria national football team, Super Eagles, if given the opportunity.
Dauda made this known in an interview on Sports Radio, Nigeria.

The former Red Star Belgrade player, hopes his performance for Vitesse will give him the chance to be called up.

“It is my wish to represent Nigeria because it’s always a pleasure to represent one’s country, so I hope to be called up one day,” Dauda said.

“I hope to keep doing well for my club because that’s the only way I will get noticed by the coaching crew.”

The 27-year-old forward went on to hail the Eagles 2-0 win against Chad, urging the team to use the failure of not qualifying for the 2015 AFCON as a motivating factor.

“I think they have started well, winning their first match. There is no need to fear, all they need to do is to be focused. They should use the failure of not qualifying for the last Cup of Nations as the motivator to make it to the 2017 edition.

“And with the experience players in the team, I hope everything will end well.”
