Dutch Cup glory with Vitesse Arnhem was an amazing experience
Miazga, who also won two MLS Supporters' Shield trophies with the New York Red Bulls, spoke to The Telegraph by email about his success at the weekend.
What was the experience like, during the match and afterwards, of winning the Cup?
The experience was amazing! The joy of winning the first major trophy for the club, the atmosphere of the game and, most importantly, what it meant to the supporters and city will never be forgotten.
Was there ever a concern you would not play due to an injury you got a few weeks ago?
To be honest at first I was a bit nervous that I might be injured for a while but the way my hamstring recovered after a few days with a lot of treatment I knew it would be good to go for the cup final.
How did you celebrate?
We had a bus tour and celebration parade around the city and then at the end of it in the city centre we had a big stage where we were embraced by more then 20k people.
Did you receive lots of congratulations from back home in the USA? Who from? And from Chelsea, too?
I got a lot of messages from family, friends and people back in the States and also people from Chelsea.
How do you think the season at Vitesse has gone for you? How has it been living in Holland?
We have two more league games left in the season before it officially finishes but so far it's been a really good learning experience from on the pitch getting valuable game time, developing and working hard to continue to progress as a player to off the pitch as well living in a different country and different culture and maturing a lot.
What are your plans for next season?
When the season finishes then I will find out plans for next season and everything will be sorted but as of right now to be honest this Sunday we have a game against Utrecht and I want to win that game and continue in good form.
